After one of my team gave a presentation on Thomas Hobbes and his mapping of metaphorical words justifying e abolishment of worlds like "security" I've been going back to school a bit. Adam Smith, rarely known, was a strong philosopher on humanity. He's, obviously, known better for other work. Here's a good link I thought I would share.
Strongly suggest the modifications to our use of language in our industry and teams as it is causing more problems than benefits. Example is the use of "security" which is nebulous as a term or description. This is leaving business folks with a confusion that results in them believing we "are" or "never will be" as a result. Hence the need for abolishment of metaphorical terms, replacement with objective data and clear discussion so the intent of the term can be realized. Ironic huh?
